Line Dried
Line Dried, designed by Sue Stratford, is a top down DK weight cardigan. We've knitted ours in Socks Yeah! DK.
Yes it is called a sock yarn - 75% wool and 25% nylon - but it's perfect for so much more than socks. It's woolly but soft and the colours are rich whether subtle or vibrant. It has great stitch definition and it washes well. It's as fabulous as the 4ply version, just thicker.
As it’s a top down garment you do need to use circular needles to hold the increasing number of stitches. It’s a great way to knit garments as you have no sewing up at the end.
So... What's a top down cardigan?
You start at the neckline and work your way down, increasing to make the top of the arms.
Once you have enough stitches for your sleeves, you separate them from the body and continue knitting down.
You put your sleeve stitches back on the needles, but this time you are knitting in the round.
After the sleeves you pick up stitches from the button band and knit them with some buttonholes.
The pattern is available to buy on Ravelry. And it's available in kids sizes too.
As the pattern uses a standard DK tension, you can use another DK yarn, click for our full range.
Description
Just as gorgeous as it’s 4ply version, this CoopKnits Socks Yeah DK is perfect for socks and so much more!
This DK weight produces thicker socks, and the wool/nylon blend gives warmth, elasticity and durability, as well as moisture wicking properties. And it’s machine washable too!
Made with a superwash merino, Socks Yeah has great stitch definition and softness and a fab colour range. Great for socks that have cables or lace stitch patterns, or colour work where you make the colour choice. But it’s not just for socks! You can use it for accessories and garments, including for babies if you want it soft and machine washable!
