eyelet shawl collection from The Woolly Brew

Our eyelet shawl collection brings together 3 shop shawls into one pattern. This free pattern has all the details for both the small and large 4ply versions and the DK one too.

With tips on using stitch markers and ideas on how to modify the basic pattern, it's a handy guide to one of our most popular free patterns.

The pattern is good practice for using a circular needle (80 or 100cm would be a good length). And it's also good for practicing yarn overs, i.e. making holes on purpose.

And it is easy to adapt - add more or less eyelets, make it smaller or bigger. But remember making these changes may mean you will need more or less yarn!

Our latest version is knitted using our new summer yarn by Rico - Lazy Hazy Summer Cotton (now discontinued). It's a cotton/acrylic blend yarn with a lively colour effect achieved by wrapping a multicoloured thread around a solid colour. Lovely for garments, adults and children, and a drapey accessory like this airy shawl.

The shawl has a versatile shape and can be worn in a number of ways.

The small 4ply shawl gives a lovely cowl effect, when the ends are tied together.

Or you can let it roll into a rectangle and wear simply tied at the neck.

Some extra notes!
